Sergeant Jared Reichel's journey is a powerful testament to resilience, courage, and dedication. His service in the U.S. Army, particularly his deployment in Sadr City, Iraq, where he experienced life-changing trauma, shaped much of his life. The loss of two teammates in a roadside bomb explosion and his subsequent battle with PTSD highlight the immense struggles he faced, both physically and mentally.
However, Jared’s story doesn’t stop at his military service or the trauma he endured. After retiring from the Army, he channeled his experience into further education, earning his degree through the GI Bill with a focus on the social science aspects of PTSD. This knowledge empowered him to serve his fellow veterans and contribute to the healing process for others who, like him, struggled with the invisible scars of war.
Jared currently serves as the Director of Agent Relations with the Veterans United Family, where he has spent the last 13 years, this reflects on his commitment to helping veterans transition to civilian life, ensuring they have the support and resources they need. His role as Founder of Home Runs for Heroes, allows him to work closely with his community in Mid-Missouri, bringing awareness and advocacy to issues veterans face, particularly regarding mental health and PTSD.
Jared’s journey is one of overcoming adversity, transforming pain into purpose, and using his experiences to help others. His story is one of not only surviving but thriving, showing that even after profound loss and trauma, there are paths to healing, hope, and success.
